Wireless

We are officially WIRELESS! After a fiasco with the Geek Squad we're finally there. (A second guy came out after 8 and left after 10.) It's so cool!! The brick walls in the house weren't really a problem, but the bathrooms were. I would assume that a woman created the interference problems so a man couldn't use the laptop on the john!! lol

I moved our desktop into a more social room. Everytime anyone would get on the computer, we would be locked away. I look forward to at least being within the general proximity of each other. Also, we got a zoomin laptop from Dell last week. It's a 17" widescreeen with too much to mention!! It will be cool to play games online with Collin...or maybe Mom.

It seems so cool to be wireless, except I think of one thing. People used to have the excuse of growing up under power lines. Look what we've brought into our homes now!! lol What's the difference??? I'm sure we'll find out 20 years from now when all the babies are born with two heads or something. Just joking!!

Test Results

This has been a long month. Usually AF has already arrived. As directed by the doc, I went in for a blood test 12 dpo (days past ovulation) on Monday morning. I kept myself from taking a home pregnancy test at all. That required serious will power...I was so trying to stay calm and wait things out. I wasn't ready to see another negative test.

The nurse just called a bit ago. She told me my hcg was zero. That means I'm not pregnant! I'm sure it will hit me like a ton of bricks later. Collin had a few of his classmates over to do homework and I made cookies. It was a good distraction.

BP Nut

Here I go again!! I just found out Brad Paisley released the rest of his tour dates for the year. He's coming back to Texas!! He has three shows..San Antonio, Wichita Falls, & Houston. I sent Ken an email asking if he wanted to go. I let him know I'm going to the SA show and would go to the Houston show if I won tickets on the fan club website. Now I'm just waiting for tickets to go on sale and to find out if Ken is going or not.

Sorry I haven't blogged much lately. This summer has been so busy. I still haven't blogged from our FL trip. Truthfully I'm waiting for the Geek Squad to come set up our wireless network. The only reason I'm having them set it up is because we have brick walls running through our house. I didn't want to have problems and guess to find our it if was an installation error or just the walls. So far they are 20 minutes late....hmmm.

Another Try

Last month we had our first round of iui (the turkey baster thing). It failed. We spent $230 for another try today. We are hopeful this time around.

Last night we began our P.R.I.D.E. training classes for the foster thing. We can't wait to get going!!

AGH!! Pirates!

Collin and I love the Pirates of the Caribbean. It's one of our favorite movies. We had been anxiously waiting with anticipation for Friday..forever, so it seemed. We knew we'd be going to see the Pirates of the Caribbean on opening day. There was a little spin to our plans because Collin stayed at Grandma's last week and still was not home. He negotiated a deal to get Gma to take him to the theater. I just took off work at 12 to see an early show. Ken and I went to a 1:05 show and it was sold out. I was shocked!

The movie was not as good as the first, but I'm still excited to see the next installment. The action scenes were good, but I just didn't get into the story line as much. I don't believe it was nearly as good as the first. Maybe the kids like the new one. I'm sure the love triangle in the first had something to do with my passion for the movie.

Anyway...if you like the first, you just have to see the next!

Superman Returns

Okay, I admit it. I've had a thing for the superhero movies over the past few years. I think it's one of the few places we can see a definite line between good and evil. It's also reassuring to always see the good guys win!

Ken and I went to see "Superman Returns" on the 4th of July. We went to a mid-afternoon showing and it was packed!! When the movie started, the music swept me away. I turned to Ken and told him I was really excited because I absolutely love a movie with a score. The music can reach so many different emotions inside that can't be tapped with a song you hear on the radio.

I liked the movie. I don't think they could have found a better person to play the part. I can't think of his name, but he was everything Superman stood for. The story line was alright. I'm not really sure how I feel about it because there were turns in the movie I definitely did not like. It's hard to have a clear head with the nostalgia clouding things. I felt like a little girl again. I'm not sure if it was the music or memories of watching Superman while growing up.

Either way, it's an enjoyable movie....way better action/graphic scenes than the old days!
